The Idea
The goal of The Collective is to balance business, life, and health. This is the direction the business community is heading. No longer do people want to spend all day working, then having a quick dinner, going to bed, and doing it all over again the next day.
That type of lifestyle doesn't promote health, nor productivity on the job. When quality of life and health are incorporated into work, all three aspects thrive. That's The Collective.
Business
Business is not just business anymore.
Business is no longer the part of life everything revolves around. In the past, people would work, and if they had time, maybe go to the gym. Maybe take a painting class. Maybe do a lot of things. What did it do for them? Made them frustrated. They resented their work for taking over their lives, even though they at one time legitimately enjoyed the work. Today, people are realizing business is merely an important part of a well-rounded lifestyle.
The Collective caters to this lifestyle by complementing full-service business rooms and offices with art, music, fitness, and education. Work is still important, and now that the way it's done is evolving, work is improving, too. People no longer resent work for taking over their lives—they appreciate the part work plays in their overall business lifestyle.
Life
Life doesn't have to revolve around work.
Work is more fun, rewarding, and successful when other things are incorporated into a daily routine—things like education, art, music, and fitness. Having all these things in one place takes away thoughts of “I'd like to go to the gym, but it's too far away.” Not anymore—it's on-site.
Reward yourself after a great videoconference meeting by taking some time in the music room to play the piano. Take an art class. Hit the weights. It's common knowledge these things enrich your life, so why not integrate them into your business lifestyle? Your work will benefit if you take some time to unwind. More importantly, you'll benefit—you'll have more energy, be more positive, and generally feel better overall.
Health
The most underrated aspect of The Collective.
You wouldn't think so, since health is crucial to every aspect of life. But it's taken the back seat to work so many time for so many people, it seems to be neglected. Cardiovascular work out? Or finish up some work after you've already worked a ten-hour day? Most people choose the work.
That's not the way it should be. Recent studies show people who work out at least twice a week, for as little as 20 minutes each session, perform better at their jobs. More importantly, they perform better overall, because they're healthier overall. With The Collective, you no longer have to sacrifice health for work—you combine health with work, and both your productivity and overall well-being will rise dramatically.
The Collective

Education
Get some classroom space and teach. The Collective is a great way to get classroom time when you need it, not worry about long-standing leases, and do what you do best: educate.
Small business
You're not a huge company, but you can appear to have the resources. With offices all over West Michigan, you can cater to any client, never worry about being stuck in a lease you can't afford, and ultimately build your business.
Large business
You may want a presence in West Michigan, but aren't interested in renting out an entire office building for years at a time. You want a place your employees can use when they need it, and that's what The Collective is all about.
